Subject: DN 2.00 build 8430 BUGS (31 of them)
the reason I put them is for the author to test them and see if they were all patched on newest versions.

I found them(as u can see) kinda lta, and didn't have an inet connection to post them, and time.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 28-03-2001 18:35:35 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
Yeah my first DN 2.00 version
ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 31-03-2001 18:19:59 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
Necromancer's Dos Navigator v2.00 build 8430
NDN BUG1:
DN.arh seems to create solid archives for RAR[which I tested] and I have to
add the "-s-" at additional parametters when archiving to make a normal
archive. Yeah this sux!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 31-03-2001 18:21:42 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG2: seems that the old CD accessing bug is still present: when I try to
TAB on the other pannel where the CD was ejected[so no CD in drive] the
stoopid reddish dialog appears and you can't do anything from here. Yeah del
"dn.dsk" file, or put a CD inside!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 31-03-2001 18:23:13 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG3: when creating List[alt+L] the file to put the list is will not be
created as a LFN file so if more than std 8.3 entered it will be truncated.
Sux!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 31-03-2001 18:24:32 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG4: make a file read-only then try to copy a file with the same name and
overwrite it, after you do so a dialog appears and says that 'cannot write
that file' but why ?? just because is read-only ?? Yeah this is a readonly
bug! Oh, and after you press the OKay button[the only one available] the
original file[which is supposed to be overwritten] is deleted, the file to be
copied seems okay. Note: this BUG doesn't happen when the file to overwrite is
not read-only! And this BUG is not a bug anymore when
Options-Configuration-System-Don't use LFNs is disabled!!!
However the MOVE func doesn't seem to have this BUG!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 31-03-2001 18:28:13 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
/NDN HATE-IT1: the read-only files are displayed like they're hidden with that
/hidden-specific char "°" this really sux on CD. Btw does 'clear read-only from
/CD' really works ???I saw that 'Options-config-system-don't show that file is
/read-only' works okay for r/o files.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:07:23 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG5: Try to put an external screen saver [ie. com/exe files with ".ss"
extension [in C:\dn\SSAVERS directory] then use Option-Configuration-screen
savers to set it up then anytime you want call that saver with mouse by
sending it to the top right corner then while inside your screen saver exit
it. Yeah everything locks up in NDN. When in Windows[only here I tried it]
Windows shows that NDN has performed bla bla bla and closes it.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:23:56 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG6: Press Ctrl+A then view several files with Alt+F3. At some time an
exception 0CAh will be reported by NDN. Damn!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:27:29 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG7: Press Ctrl+C [to compare directory contents] then selecte compare by
'content' then press Okay. Yeah it lock up. In windows a msg is displayed and
prog is closed!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:30:55 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG8: Press Alt+T [to show directory Tree]. Now the status is displayed
okay, but the dir names in branch not.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:35:50 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN-HATE-IT1: Navigator restarting is pretty annoying!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:38:10 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG9: Choose Disk-Disk Editor when Options-Configuration-System-Direct
access for drive C is OFF. A dialog appears press OK. Then in the diskeditor
window nothing is shown. Furthermore File-Sector will cause the error window
to show up[the one which reports an exception 0C8h]
ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:40:18 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:41:02 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG10: Not that much of a BUG. Place your cursor on a directory then
select File-View-As Spreadsheet. Then press F2[to save]. Yeah obviously cannot
make file with the same name as that directory!
ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:41:49 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 00:47:52 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG11: When Options-Configuration-System-Don't Show that file is Read-only
is disabled try to overwrite an readonly file, now you notice that is looks
like a normal file ['°' '' aren't displayed anymore] until Ctrl+Z or
restarted by anything else ie. 'dir' command.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 23:01:10 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG12: Press Enter on an LFN exe file, yeah bad command or filename.
Unless you press Ctrl+Enter then Enter.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 23:02:37 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG13: Shift+F4 then type as a filename 'em' + char(142) ['Ž'] the file
'emŽ' should be created after you press F2, then try to delete it!
Yeah something like a downcase happens, this sux ! Note: you cannot delete the
file 'em®'. Note: by modifying the uppercase table
Options-Configuration-country support-Uppercase table doesn't change a thing.
Also note that this bug has several faces: ie. copying a LFN file containing
chars like 'Ž'[the same line in ASCII chart] doesn't work but this is the same
BUG.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 1-04-2001 23:15:32 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN HATE-IT2: Skip sux when copying. Although the files will be skipped they
are still copyed in mem; the skip check is made after the file is copyed in
memory.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 00:19:53 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG14: When %TEMP% dos variable points to an invalid directory[ie.
inexistent disk drive] and Options-Configuration-System-Temporary Dir is
"%TEMP" then stoopid things happen when trying to arhive let's say more than 9
files. They are passed by command line so few of selected files will archive,
this only if some stoopid chars don't bug off [like "¿" char(191) and another
one poped as a file passed by command line]
ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 00:37:41 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG15: Press Ctrl+Z (and hold Ctrl), now the clock is a little to much to
the right(when you release Ctrl). If you're quick and release Ctrl before DN
gets back then the clock is okay! It took me some time to realize why my clock
gone too damn to the right.(you only see 1st digit of the hour). Also when you
try to move your clock around, when you kee pressed Ctrl key the clock appears
here and there.
Pretty much the same happens when you hold Shift, in both situations.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 00:48:34 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG16: when in tree mode (Alt+T) while searching for the file named: as I
type the cursor is 4-5 chars right than the filename I type. Although this
depends on where you've been before (which dir).

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 00:50:23 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG17: Alt+T, in tree mode try to make a directory then move around with
TAB (anything) the system will lock. Yeah and in windows will pop that nasty
window with OK and Details.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 00:54:14 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
DN BUG18: Moving a dir/file(s) from a drive to a substitute drive on the same
drive causes copy and not truename eval then simple move operations.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 00:56:30 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG19: Try this: F4 on file c:\dn\whatsnew.txt then ESCape. Alt+PgUp then
choose the same file (should be first) press Enter. You notice a line at the
top left of the screen saying: "Bad WAVE file."

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 01:19:41 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG20: Alt+F1 then select temporary drive, make sure this is where your
cursor is (TAB to it). Press Ctrl+A, funny text on the other panel.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 01:22:01 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG21: F4 on a file(let's say text file). Move your cursor somewhere in
the file. F7 and enter a text that cannot
be found. Press Okay then your cursor is @ 1:1 in file. Move it up/down/left
or right. The cursor is where should be, there where you press F7.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 01:23:55 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG22: F4 on a file (with several lines in it).
Repeat the following: press '/' then DOWNARROW then Home. Do this quickly.
Strings like 'vn,+vn,' should appear. I even got that stoopid message several
times: the one that says that you cannot save changes with direct disk access
off (Select Disk-Diskeditor, when Options-Configuration-System-Drive C has
direct disk access disabled)

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 01:29:29 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG23: I can't say this is a BUG. F4 on a read-only file then F2. It won't
save it! WOW, now this is weird. Try this: edit a readonly file on you
harddisk, so press F4, press F2, it saves. Escape. Set this file readonly
again, f4 on it, F2, it won't save. Note: you should have
Options-Configuration-Editor/Viewer-Create Backup files enabled.

With that disabled, I can't write the readonly file at all.

This is definitely a bUG.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 3-04-2001 01:45:52 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG24: Edit a file C:\!\readme.txt (the directory "!" must be created
AS-IS), then escape the editor. Then Ctrl+PgUp then press enter on that file
(should be 1st). A msg at the top-left says: 'Cannot open file readme.txt'

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 17-04-2001 18:34:22 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG25: try archiving as a long file name (Shift+F1) then type the name of
the archive "too damn stoopid" (for example; but without quotes) then arvhive
it with the quotes ""too damn stoopid"" well u'l get the point.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 23-04-2001 13:43:06 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG26: try to extract *.dat from c:\windows\SYSBCKUP\rb000.cab (win98SE,
in my case). DN will ask for a password, but the files are not archived with
pwd, they're only hidden!

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 23-04-2001 23:08:52 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG27: Shift+F6(Reanimator) on a diskette, the sistem locks up.
ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 23-04-2001 23:09:28 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 6-05-2001 00:06:13 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG28: some errors occur when dn.clp is deleted then File->show text
buffer is issued. The buffer is filled from memory from somewhere, weird.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 10-05-2001 18:31:33 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG29: when LFN is disaled in NDN and I'm in W9x, and I type "dir" at
NDN prompt then when I come back all filenames are LFN ! I thought I disabled
LFN?! When I chdir (ie. "..") then I'm back to normal (short file names I
mean)

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 12-05-2001 00:17:19 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG 30: Press Enter on an .UC2 archive within a directory(LFN dir name ie.
"!Time Diary". A message says C:\!Time.uc2 not found! Yeah obviously a
long filename problem.

ÄÄÄÍÍÍ< 8-06-2001 00:43:54 >ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
NDN BUG31: press F3 on a directory named ie. "v1.01á" char(225), its
size is 0 bytes, even if it contains something. Check the upcase table, or
smth like uppercase problems when directory evaluation (for Necromancer).
